Holtz Law Handles All Your Family Law Related Matters

Divorce: Whether you are ready or are considering a divorce, legal separation, or annulment, there are many important considerations you need to make for yourself and your family. You need to make sure you understand your legal rights. Often times, we find that potential clients have heard so many different “stories about divorce” that they are ill-informed about the realities of their circumstances and road ahead. Kara S. Holtz consults with prospective clients to give them a general road-map specific to the legal terrain of their issues.

Custody: No issue is as important as your children and the relationship that is in the best interests of the child as to a parenting plan. Kara understands this on many levels. Kara handles many complex custody cases and understands your options and legal solutions. Whether it is a move-away case, or you are dealing with a “gate-keeper” or uncooperative parent, or you simply need a great parenting plan to alleviate the current stress being placed on your child, we can help.

Division of Assets: This is often one of the most misunderstood areas of Family Law. People have heard so many difference stories that are simply not based in the law. Division of retirement, maintaining or selling the family residence, separate property claims, and division of property, including assets and debts, are only a few of the many issues that can arise when a family is changing shape and parties are dissolving their financial affairs. Kara has handled cases where a simple marital settlement agreement can handle the division of the family financial affairs, and litigated cases involving business division and valuation, employer based investment packages, including RSUs and stock options, and complex division where experts are required to properly prepare for settlement and trial. Preparation is key.

Child Support and/or Spousal Support: This is an area of law that is often crucial for both sides of the equation. Whether you are the payor, and want to know what your obligation is going to look like, or you are the payee and need money to maintain your standard of living, Kara can review the law with experience handling hundreds of support orders to determine a range for you to determine your best strategy moving forward.

Domestic Violence: Kara has worked on thousands of restraining orders. Law is developing and changing in this area every day and in every Court. Kara has experience she can share with you to help your case.

The family law issues summarized here are not exclusive, and reflect only some of the more common topics for which prospective client’s seek information.

We are accessible, detail oriented, excellent listeners and have actual litigation experience.
